Make it a habit to ask yourself: What's going on inside of me at this moment? That question will point you in the right direction. But don't analyze, just watch. Focus your attention within. Feel the energy of the emotion.
- Eckhart Tolle
I still work in an office and I see a lot of listless, tired faces who appear to have thrown in the towel and are just going through the motions at work. They still have financial obligations, a family to support, mouths to feed and a mortgage to pay. Typically, they are slightly on the heavy side, whereas a few years ago they would have been several kilos less and no amount of dieting or exercise is helping. They have a hard time getting back to their ideal, balanced weight.
Weight gain for most starts initially with a thickening around the abdominal torso area, below the ribcage. This is the area of the solar plexus chakra. Within the solar plexus chakra resides the “I Am” energy centre, the relationship of the individual to themselves. When that person is in alignment, they are in perfect harmony with their inner being and their higher self. In fact, their higher self is fully integrated into their daily life, they are expressing their purpose, their higher self is on show. They practice self-love, have healthy self-worth, are self-confident and have achieved a certain level of self-mastery. They are powerful beings. Physically, they tend to stand straight and more importantly, they don’t have much excess weight around their abdominal area.
When an individual feels that whatever they’re doing, saying or expressing isn’t aligning with their core beliefs or their higher self, they feel like they’ve given their power away. In my experience, I get this physical queasy feeling in my stomach.
How does this happen, lovelies? This can occur a couple of different ways.
- They feel that they’re under attack. They may have been told by a peer or a superior that they’re wrong and they’ve reacted by outwardly agreeing. But inside they’re seething to the rebuke.
- They feel that a superior has forced them to do a job or project that they don’t believe in. But because they need to keep their job, they suck it up and inwardly feel discomfort about it.
At the core of it is a fear of unworthiness, a lack of self-love, coming to the surface wanting to be healed. But most people deny this feeling and just get on with it. Meanwhile, the body’s protection mechanisms switch on. The instinct is to start over-eating to fill a void inside, a void that won’t exist if they gave themselves enough self-love. Physically, the body reacts by building defensive fortifications to ward off further energetic attacks and the body gains weight.
So everyone I sensed who has a weight issue at work has a wounded being deep inside, because at some time in the past, they were hurt and they couldn’t defend themselves.
How do you reverse it, beautiful people? Can you? Yes, everything is possible with commitment and intention.
I suggest you start by sitting in meditation and visualise all those parts of you, you energetically gave away, those instances you gave someone else power over you. See them a pinpoints of light. Then with intention, call them back to you and reclaim them. Imagine that they’re flying back to you and as they come closer, they become bigger and brighter. Then visualise them merging with your light and integrating back into your own auric field. As each one merges back into you, you become bigger and bigger, brighter and brighter. Keep doing this until there are no more lights outside of you and you are at your brightest light.
Then next time you feel someone is opposing you or you feel like you’re forced to do something you don’t believe in, speak up. Express your feelings. Do so in a tactful, loving and compassionate way. Do it for the sake of your soul and your health, lovelies.
